New Soul for Miami Blues Motor Yacht. She is now called “Wolfoz”.

Design Story

We are happy to announce that a new collaboration is started for an exceptional refit project between very successful new generation refit company KRM Yacht Refiy  and Red Yacht Design. Initially built in 1991, Euroship Cees Cornelissen BV motor yacht Miami Blues is now undergoing a refit by KRM Yacht Refit and Repair in Turkey. Major exterior and interior refit design is maintained by Red Yacht Design who is working very closely with KRM and the Owner.

Red had to start the job from the exterior arrangement, as it was a little bit old-fashioned, just like the interiors. They wanted to maximize the use of outdoor spaces, taking into account the Owner's current lifestyle and his broad friend circle. Going up from the sea level; a nice beach club was created at the closest point to the sea by extending the stern platform of the boat. A transformer was installed on this platform for the yacht to carry its brand new tender and for easy access to water. All of the aft areas are remodelled to create a closed-door storage area for toys and a new jet-ski.

Climbing up the stairs to the main deck from both sides, we will see a completely renovated dining area that can accommodate 10 to 12 people quite comfortably. All of the stairs leading up to the main deck, bridge deck and to the new sun deck are designed and relocated to provide the guests' maximum comfort in sea conditions.

Going up one more deck, there is the bridge deck aft lounge, which is comfortable and spacious enough to almost rival the main saloon inside. This is the area where the Owner wants to spend all his time, especially with his family and where he will host his guests in a casual mode. A substantial open-air cinema was designed for the whole family to enjoy in this comfortable and relaxed area, which is decorated with colours in harmony with the interiors. The fore of the bridge deck has been completely renewed, and a brand new symmetrical and ample lounge area has been created. Since this part is the only sunbathing area in the front, it is designed to be quite broad, comfortable and dual-functional. Thanks to this lounge and walkway, direct access was provided from the bridge to the fore of the boat.

At the top level, there is the extended sun deck. Red worked very carefully to adapt the original styling of the yacht. The significant area at the aft part of the sun deck has a new jacuzzi and a huge lounge area with sunbeds. Sun deck offers more privacy screened from view or a party lounge with a full-size bar and a BBQ area. For using every inch of the sun deck, a new rollbar is designed with a new mast which is matching the original look & soul of the yacht. Also, her hull and the superstructure will be painted with fresh colours matching her new identity.

All the design work Red has done with meticulousness and respect for the spirit of the yacht will be combined with KRM Yachts' experience, skill and success in the field of refit from A to Z, and Wolfoz will come to life as an entirely renewed and elegant yacht.

One of the biggest challenges to overcome in older boats is the need to change the bulkheads and partitions, as the lifestyle changes are reflected in the arrangement. So Red Yacht Design started their work by firstly examining and improving the general arrangement according to a more modern lifestyle.

The dining room has been enlarged and transformed into a more comfortable place to host long-lasting pleasant dinners while chatting indoors in cool weather, as Wolfoz’ new Owner likes to give invitations and has a good guest. Like the dining room, the main saloon has been updated to accommodate more guests more comfortably by working on its layout. All these arrangement updates were stylized in the light of these keywords; stylish, spacious and timeless.

The feeling of spaciousness that embraces the guest as soon as he/she steps into the interior from the aft deck was provided by the natural, fresh and light colour palette that Red preferred. Clear, simple but delicately thought reflective ceilings, blinds details that create a full-height window perception, combined with low-line, modern and elegant furniture, make the living space that is perceived even more voluminous than it is. While the eye moves softly in the main saloon, carefully placed delicate black contours reveal the outlines of the space. With its home-like TV set in casual air, the main saloon is the perfect place for relaxing or watching a football game with friends.

Applying the same elegance and the timeless style in the main saloon by enriching it with the unique details of the owner cabin, Red offers the Owner a much more convenient place by making the same layout improvement in this area. With its uncomplicated and refined material selection, light colour tones, full-beam width, king-size bed, generous and comfortable sofa, hanging out in the owner cabin has been made very pleasant. The slim-line leather make-up table designed for the starboard side adds excellent class to this elegant room.

The use of background marble in the headboard and the preferred marble texture is a genuine surprise that softens the straightness of the lines that stand out throughout the room. The sunlit bathroom has an extraordinarily pure and modern design with the contrast and balance of light and dark coloured marbles. All of the guest cabins are designed based on the main design character of the owner cabin.

Fully confident in the intelligence and instincts of the designer and freeing Red Yacht Design, the Owner required a refined design and the highest quality workmanship. At that point, KRM Yacht's skill and attention to detail will stand out.
